Racha Noi Island
Sparkling turquoise waters and a spot of powdery white sand beach await visitors to beautiful and uninhabited Racha Noi Island. Punctuating the islands landscape and extending offshore are rock outcroppings that very much compliment the scene here. There aren’t any businesses or facilities on Racha Noi, so it’s usually a quieter and more relaxed destination that’s really best for those aiming to enjoy some of the best snorkeling within reasonable distance to Phuket.
Known mostly for its fine scuba diving, as mentioned, Racha Noi can be a great spot to visit for quality snorkelling. The water quality is usually very good allowing for high visibility of the rocky shallows and beautiful coral areas that are home to a good variety of marine life.
Travel time to Racha Noi is approximately the same as Phi Phi (60 minutes in very good conditions) but you’ll be traveling southward from Phuket as opposed to due east. There’s lots of open water surrounding Racha Noi so strong winds can sometimes be a challenge and there’s always nearby Racha Yai Island that can be stopped at first or traveled to in case the conditions at Racha Noi are less than suitable.
